During the past 11 days the Berliner Polizei controlled 9000 cyclists.
Gave 4000 tickets and busted 4 fixed gear riders, come on, got nothing else to do? Cars kill, bikes don’t…

What’s wrong with enforcing laws? Especially if they are consequently disobeyed by vast numbers of traffic participants. Four out of nine cyclists were apparently not obeying the laws. I have never heard of so many misbehaving motorists.

i understand that laws are laws, but are all laws enforced?

is skidding at traffic lights around Görlitzer park legal? is speeding down Kreuzberg roads filled with kids and bikes legal? this happens all the time, but i don’t see these people getting stopped.

if police action has to be for something illegal, it would seem to me more effective for citizen safety busting these rogue motorists for their dangerous driving, instead of giving riders a ticket for not having wheel reflectors.
